Best Password Manager in 5 Minutes | Top 3 Options Revealed!
Password managers are on the rise, and it’s no wonder why. We have more accounts than ever, and there’s no way I’m writing them down on sticky notes ever again. That said, password managers are plentiful and very different. In this article, I’m going to go over the top three best password manager options on the market: NordPass, 1Password, and RoboForm.
Security and Encryption
To start with, I’m going to go through their security and encryption. The methods these providers use are a bit different. Only 1Password and RoboForm share the same encryption algorithm, but NordPass utilizes a different, newer one, which should be more reliable long term. Additionally, all three providers utilize zero-knowledge architecture, which means no data collection and no storing of encrypted passwords in the cloud. All info is safeguarded first.

Now, one extra is the multifactor authentication. NordPass and 1Password give me multiple ways to protect my password manager app, while RoboForm only offers 2FA with authenticator apps. If you need a secure password manager, any of these options are going to suffice. Pick the one you like the most or the cheapest one. Features of NordPass, 1Password, and RoboForm
Next, I’m going to cover the features each one of the top three providers offers.
Common Features Across All Providers
- Cross-Platform Availability: Whichever password manager you pick, you can use it on all operating systems. It doesn’t matter if you want the best password manager for Android or macOS; everything is covered.
- Multipurpose Storage: It’s possible to store more than passwords—notes, banking details, even documents. All those things get encrypted and protected.
- Autofill: All three providers offer autofill. No copy-pasting is required anymore. If you have some bank card saved, they also get filled in automatically. Just remember that desktop users need the Password Manager Chrome extension, or any browser extension, really. The feature won’t work otherwise.
- Password Generator: If you don’t have many passwords saved yet or desperately need better ones, the password generator can create unique, complicated passwords in a single click. You can also customize them for an even better result.
- Password Sharing: Once you have passwords, why not share them with friends and family? Well, at least stuff like Netflix passwords, of course.
- Password Import: If you are switching from a different password manager like the one Google Chrome has, you can import your passwords into NordPass, 1Password, or RoboForm in just a few clicks. It’s really convenient.
- Password Health Scanner: One more thing is the feature that scans passwords in search of weak, reused, or leaked passwords. It’s called differently for each provider, despite the fact that they all do pretty much the same thing.
Unique Features of Each Password Manager
As good as those common features sound, the best password manager must have unique features as well.
NordPass Unique Features
- Data Breach Scanner: A special feature that monitors the Dark Web for signs of exposed credentials associated with me.
- Emergency Access: This is probably my favorite implementation of this feature. It’s really easy to designate a trusted contact who would be able to access my vault if I can’t.
1Password Unique Features
- Advanced Access Management: This is the fancy way of calling all the in-depth customization that you can do using the family plan. In my opinion, 1Password is on top of the family-focused password managers as I can easily set permissions, share passwords, and configure access rights.
- Travel Mode: Another great feature no other option here offers is the travel mode. With this feature, I can designate some of my passwords or even entire vaults as travel-protected, so they’re going to keep hidden while I’m on the road. This can spare me a lot of trouble if my device was ever lost or stolen.
RoboForm Unique Features
- Local-Only Storage: RoboForm, while matching all others in common features, doesn’t have a lot of unique things going for it. The only big upside I noticed is the option to enable local-only storage. Basically, it eliminates cloud saves, and while this more or less locks me to one device, it also means nobody can access my passwords without accessing my device, which is also password-protected. Oh, yeah, it’s all coming together.
Pricing and Value
Knowing all the features each password manager has to offer, what is the price you got to pay for them? Well, it’s actually not that high. RoboForm is easily the most affordable provider in this lineup, but as you’ve noticed, it’s also not really big on unique features. NordPass is the second most affordable, while 1Password’s price is the highest of the three.
But comparing them to each other is one thing, while comparing them to the market average, this is pretty good value, especially if you can drop those prices even lower with a discount. Where do you find one? Just scan one of these QR codes or check the description for discount links.
Final Thoughts
With that, we are running out of time, so that’s it. NordPass, 1Password, and RoboForm are some of the best password manager 2025 options. Give them a try!
