NordPass Safe? The Only NordPass Review You Need in 2026

Is NordPass Safe? | The ONLY NordPass Review You Need!

Is NordPass Safe? The Only NordPass Review You Need in 2026, Is NordPass safe? I’m not looking for safe enough. Our passwords need the maximum possible safety. Let’s see if NordPass meets the highest security standards or if it’s just another overpriced promise.

Encryption and Security Standards

In general, whenever you’re wondering are password managers safe, the first thing I recommend looking into is encryption. Any secure password manager usually has the golden standard AES-256 cipher implemented, which scrambles your data into an unreadable mesh of symbols. But NordPass actually chose to use a more secure encryption algorithm, XChaCha20. It provides the same level of security as its predecessor, but it’s easier to implement faster on some devices and less prone to human error.

Plus, NordPass uses a zero-knowledge architecture, so nobody in the company has any access to your vault or the data inside it. Only you can view it all by logging in with your Master Password. That said, the Master Password is a single point of entry. If someone figures it out, they could access all your passwords. Unless you use multifactor authentication. It adds an extra login step, and yes, NordPass has an option to add MFA, usually through authentication apps like the Google Authenticator.

It’s also good to know that NordPass has a stellar reputation overall and a clean slate with no data breaches to this day. I can’t say that I’m surprised. After all, this app comes from Nord Security, and they have quite the arsenal of security apps under their sleeve. Plus, they’ve put NordPass through multiple audits and security evaluations already, which adds a good deal of assurance.

NordPass vs. Google Password Manager

But how does all this stand against other password managers? Google Password Manager is really popular, but let’s do a quick comparison. Google itself is well-known for invasive practices, like tracking your browsing habits and search queries to then using it all on targeted ads. But hey, maybe their password manager is better. I don’t think so.

The most staggering thing to me is that Google Password Manager doesn’t disclose its encryption methods. There’s no mention of encryption type anywhere, even on their support page. You’re essentially trusting Google with your information, and they don’t even bother to offer you any assurance of its safety. Additionally, Google’s password manager lacks multifactor authentication. If someone compromises your Google account, they could easily access your passwords.

Now, if you specifically want a password manager for Google Chrome, it’s better to just get the NordPass Chrome extension. It’s going to allow you to quickly access your passwords, automatically save new ones, and fill in already saved logins with a single click. Plus, it covers the security essentials that Google Password Manager doesn’t. From a security standpoint, NordPass security is more than enough to keep your data safe, so I can definitely recommend checking it out.

NordPass Features Review

Besides reliable password safekeeping, what else can you expect from this app? Let’s do a NordPass review of features. The basics here are pretty much the same as in any other password manager app. You can quickly and easily add logins, secure notes, credit card info, even addresses, and they can be autofilled later if you have the NordPass browser extension. But basically, the app provides secure storage for whatever you want, even files. You can add up to 50 of them on a single item. Just keep in mind that there’s a three gigabyte storage limit.

Plus, you can securely share your logins with other NordPass users and adjust the permissions of what the recipient can do with the information, from editing to autofill-only access. On this front, NordPass is not magically unique. Most password managers can do this much, but upon a closer look, the NordPass app combines a truly impressive amount of security tools more than I usually see when reviewing other providers.

Data Breach Scanner

One of those is the Data Breach Scanner. You can add your emails and credit card info to be monitored for leaks. This way, if any of your accounts get involved in a data breach, you’ll know right away and be able to act quickly to prevent any real damage.

Password Health

Password Health is another NordPass password manager feature worth checking out. It assesses the strength of your passwords pointing out weak, reused, or old ones. All of these make your accounts much more vulnerable than they should be, so don’t put off changing them. Nordpass can’t do that part for you.

Passkeys

But if you’re tired of passwords altogether, try passkeys. It’s a new and more secure alternative to passwords. Passkeys log you in by confirming your identity instead of requesting a password. It can be biometric data, like a fingerprint scan or a simple pin code, but by using this, you can avoid password-based account takeover attempts like credential stuffing. The only drawback is that only a handful of websites support this feature, at least so far.

Email Masking

Another cool feature that I want to mention in this NordPass review is Email Masking, so it lets you create a disposable email address to use instead of your real one. Everything still gets forwarded to your real email, but it stays hidden, lowering the chances of your details getting exposed online.

Comparison with Other Password Managers

Now, yes, there are some flashy features that other providers have, but NordPass doesn’t, like 1Password’s travel mode, which keeps selected vaults hidden while you’re crossing borders, or Keeper’s Concierge service that assigns a personal specialist to help you install the app. But I’ve yet to find a password manager that has every feature out there.

At least so far, no other password manager comes close to offering as many protective tools and features as NordPass does, while also keeping a very affordable price point and a user-friendly app. If you want to try this password manager for yourself, keep in mind that NordPass usually does have special discounts available, ones that you can’t easily access. If you want the best possible price, scan this QR code on the screen or just use the link in the description. These will automatically apply to the best current deal.

Final Verdict: Is NordPass Safe?

Overall, NordPass meets all the traditional safety standards and even exceed some, especially with more modern encryption, and additional security features. If you’re worried about password manager safety, this is one of the best choices you can make. If you found this article helpful
